I have an 06 1.8S. OEM tires were the 195/55-16 but have been running a 205/55-16 with no issues, car runs great with no rubbing issues and lots of clearance. A friend just put a set of Michelins from Costco on his old Ford Taurus. Couple months after new tires, his transmission crapped out. More to repair the transmission than the car is worth. He asked if I would want the relatively new tires. The only issue, they are 215/60-16. I looked on TireRack and the two are almost the same with tread width and section width, only real difference is the height, 205/55 is 25" and 215/60 is 26". There looks to be plenty of clearance for the extra 1/2" increase in radius. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried running this large of a tire? It is only used for around town driving and an occasional short trip, maybe 30-50 miles.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated!

Lots of people have seen my question, no one has gone this tall with their tires? Clearance is the biggest concern
