i think it could depend on the gas, if you had like 1/8 of 93 and the SE had a full tank of the cheap stuff. Who knows, SE's have bigger wheels do they loose more hp to them, comparted to our steel wheels which we loose less. I'd have to say the GXE with steel wheels would win. Then again anyone wanna race and prove me right?
The Steel Wheels could very likely be heavier. It really comes down to a matter of power. The SE has more. It also has a LSD that will allow it to launch better. The cars essentially weigh the same, so I give the SE the nod.
BTW, gas weighs 6 pounds/gallon. If the GXE had only 2 gallons of gas, and the SE was full, it would still only be a 66 pound difference. That isn't enough to overcome the power defecit.
i have a gxe but still, i will have to say the SE will prolly win. ....the 2.0 engine is just more powerful than the 1.8.....The CAI and the exhaust are not Viagra......that 1.8 is still a 1.8..
(although it may helps a bit...)
Just a question about the weight of gasoline affecting the car's speed. I was wondering if having an empty tank, with barely enough to scrape by 3-4 miles before being empty, would affect the car's speed. There is hardly anything left in the tank, so would your car have trouble getting up to speed. I was just curious...
