Welcome to the board! :) Yeah, since the stromung is the only available cat-back for our cars, everyone is getting them. I have one and love it. I get compliments on how it looks all the time. Everyone says "those are the tips I want for my car!" It is extremely well made, and well worth the money.

A couple people have done custom set ups with universal mufflers, but they usually have crush bends, and use aluminized pipe. The Stromung is all stainless steel and utilizes mandrel bends.

It's all up to you really. Radium john posted pictures of his car with the Stromung in this forum awhile back. Do a search for Stromung, and you should find it.

I was going to do the same thing to my car before it got destroyed. I was planning on a 5zigen universal and 2.25" mandrel piping. I never found a solid price for the 5zigen, but my piping and labor was quoted at $260. Full cat-back, mandrel and installed. I wouldn't suggest getting crushed bent piping or anything over 2.25."

The stromung looked good, but the price wasn't right for me. The 5zigen and custom piping was cheaper because I got install in that equation.

Welcome to the board!!

I'd have to say that my Stromung Cat-back System is a great mod, and I'll say it, and say it again, I got my money's worth. You have an idea for your exhaust, then go with it! :) I like the idea about uniqueness, but I had to get the Stromung. That price isn't bad, just as long the fitment is okay, and you're happy with the performance and sound, and of course looks of your muffler. :)

Hey, don't let all the Hotshot bashers get you down. Some people had problems with it but there are countless others who are happy with their Hotshot products. I have the Hotshot CAI and have no complaints and have no problems with the fitment.

The 5Zigen mufflers are great. They are a little loud so make sure you get a resonator especially if you're planning on getting headers in the future. Have fun with modding the car.
