I tried to search for this, but couldn't find it. But could everyone list the oil and filter they use, type of driving everyday, how many miles a day, and what intervals they change their oil?

Mobil1 5w-30 (5.5qts ;) )
OEM Filter
20-30 miles per day
Oil Changed every ~3500 miles
Virtually no oil burning
Even at 3500 mile intervals the oil comes out very clean. I could probably extend the intervals at least another 1000 miles, but I'll stick with the 3500 mile interval for piece of mind.

1. Mobil 1, Schaefer's Full syn, Schaeffer's Blend. Right now Redline (Mix of 5W20 and 10W-30)

2.K&N oil filter (HP 1010)

3. Lately (more trips- 20K/year)

4. Target oil change will be 7500 Miles (at least) if the RedLine works out. If not-I'll try the Mobil R-1 (Racing Oil 0W-30) Or maybe German Castrol (GC 0W-30).

4. Very Easy Driving

I wouldn't go that far without an oil analysis at 7-8 thousand miles. Also I'm leary going that far with even the K&N filter. I think the optimum distance without changing the K&N would be maybe 9 thousand miles. Thats just gut feeling though.

My son has gone 12 thousand on an oil change but we changed filters at about 7K miles (SuperTech)

Yeah, I'm plan to do one at 10000km and see what's going on before taking a decision.

But I'm amazely surprised how clear is my oil now after 5500km. Usually with the OEM filter, oil at that mileage would be black on the dipstick but with the K&N filter, the oil is almost clear as it was brand new!!!

don't go longer than 12,000km or else you might be denied warranty. And if people who read the article I posted a few weeks back, it says synthetic oil don't actually break in at around 3,000miles anyways, then it actaully protects better than new oil.

I really think 6000-7500miles with true synthetics are a good interval. It don't void warranty, and it's not at all bad for the engine. Anything over would be warranty voiding.

In reality they can't deny you warranty coverage even if you exceed the recommended interval. Now if the engine fails due to a problem with lubrication you could be on shaky ground. But why tempt fate. Just keep records that indicate you changed at the appropriate interval. I suppose that some would say this is wrong of me to lie. I can live with this though. I am on solid technical ground by doing oil analysis and proceeding accordingly. There are times in life when it is necessary to lie as long as it doesn't hurt someone.

Castrol GTX and a Nissan filter every 3000 miles.

Most (> 90% I estimate) of my mileage is city. For the entire time I owned the car, I've driven about 10 miles a day 5 times a week for work and about 20 miles a day twice a week for school. Since April, it's been 20 miles a day 5 times a day for work and 30 miles a day Friday/20 miles Saturday for school. Now I'm back to the 10/20 pattern. I usually average 600 to 800 miles a month.
