OK I went and met with the owner/manager of the dealership (friend of a friend kinda thing) last night (Woodfield Nissan for those of you in the area) to try and find the SE I wanted w/ pp, 5sp., sunroof, and ABS. He searched his "database of an 18 state area" and said that only 1 of those existed in Granite and it was in WI, plus it had the 6-disc changer in the dash--not something I realy want. But he said I could order one exactly the way I want, but it will take approx. 45 days.

Has anyone else ordered theirs? What are the pros/cons if any besides the time factor?

Also, the guy was trying to tell me that a "wind visor" for the sunroof was a MUST, but i disagree. He said the wind just blasted your eyes without one. Any sunroof owners care to comment on that? I figure what's the point of having a sunroof on a car if you have a visor on that covers up 1/3 of the opening?

BTW this guy is kind of a jag-off...he's also the same guy who tried to tell me that ABS was foolish with a 5speed. But he selling me the car for $100 over invoice so I can't ***** too much

$100 over invoice and you get to order it? that would definately be worth it.

Don't expect to see the car in 45 days though. Typically, a 2~3 month wait is more realistic. If the price is right, it could be worth it. However, you'll be in Se-r territory if your waiting that long. You might just consider getting the Granite model that is available now. Although I didn't get my first choice of color, I am glad that I got my car when I did.

I ran into the same problem when I bought my SE. They just don't exist! There were less than 10 in the State of Colorado with a 5spd. I guess they have only gotten more rare over the past few months. I've only seen maybe 3 or 4 SE's driving around Denver.

It's funny how you mentioned the Granite thing. I was originally set to get a Radium SE. But I was dead set on a sunroof and guess what color I got? That's right. Granite.

About the visor thing, it really does help. Actually only covers like 3 inches over the roof. It's not necessarily the wind that bothers you. It's the wind noise at high speeds that's gonna get you.

Well, there's my .02

Hey puckfreak,

Where is it located in Wisconsin? If it's
close enough to the Milwaukee area, I could take a look at it for you.

Also, I've only driven with my sunroof completely open once, but I was amazed at
how quite it was, even at 80 mph. It is
noisy when it is just tilted up though.

It's in Wausau, WI. Wausau Imports, I think. West of Green Bay. Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure I want that one, it will cost me about $800 more than if I just order one (6-disc changer+transport fee). I wouldn't want you to go out of your way for something I'm only somewhat interested in, but if I decide to seriously consider it, maybe I will take you up on your offer. Of course if its not anywhere near you don't worry about it. We also have a sales rep for my company in WI, so I thought I might ask him if will be in the area sometime soon.

How much is he giving it to you for? What the dealer has as an invoice is really fake. You can get the real prices online at www.edmunds.com

I am just curious to what options he has and the price you are getting. One thing: When you get the car ordered, it leaves very little room to bargain. It basically tells the dealer that you want that one so bad that you waited so long for it.

Another: They are definately going to charge you a destination charge and a dealer's fee. I was able to get the destination charge removed, but the dealer's fee was unavoidable.

SR20DE..Sorry Si guys.
I "ordered" mine but really (and luckily) someone before me ordered everything I wanted w/o a sunroof and then couldn't afford it so I took that. Call me a brat but I got mine for 4.3% under the invoice price because my Grandfather worked at MAC trucks!!!! HeHe

Personally, I don't like the sunroof air deflector. I think it ruins the lines of the car. The air flow in the car isn't much, and the reason why I got it was the air coming in the car. It's decently loud on the interstate.
