I know I brought up this question before, and just figured out the answer. On the M/T model, if you have been driving and stop with the engine running, you cannot pop the trunk if the clutch is in. Took me 4 months of turning the car off just to open the trunk. Just a little FYI.

basically the same goes for an automatic as well if you have it in gear or your foot on the brake the trunk won't open....

that's stupid. I want to be able to open my trunk whenever I want to! I wouldn't know why I would need to while the car is moving, but I still do!

pretty sad I know...but when I was in HS...I lived in a small town and for fun we would go "trunk riding"...this topic made me think of that...nothing like coming to a stop sign and having the person in the trunk lift up and wave at the person behind you...freaked quite a few people out! LOL

I believe you still can do that. It's not the clutch that controls. It's the gear -- if it's not in gear, you can open the trunk. I haven't tried "high speed opening" but I don't see why I need to.
So you can drive 80mph down the road and shift it to neutral and open the trunk. Wind will probably push the trunk down a little.
