My transmission has sounded a bit upset lately so I was going to change the oil in my transmission. I got the fill bolt off no problem, but the drain looks pretty stripped and it also seems to be seized. I'm a little leery of using a heat gun to heat up the area or something because I don't know if there is a rubber gasket in there or anything.

If I can't get the bolt I'm planning on getting a hose in the fill and sucking out the fluid. Does anyone have any suggestions in regards of if heating the drain bolt is safe or any idea of what I can do?

it is not very safe to heat up the drain bolt, there a couple of rubber things around the area that you could ruin, dont forget the gaskets will melt/burn. ive never tried using a pump with a hose, hopefully the hose reaches down enough for you. hopefully youve used plenty of pb blaster, and a small metal hammer for tapping, the washer under the drain bolt tends to get corroded, so its probably just locked on and just need to be broken free. also, hope youre using a GL-4 gear oil for your tranny.
