I was wondering what changing the timing does for the car? i saw someone on here had there's to 18 degrees.....whats stock? and what degrees do you recommend??

Stock is at 15 degrees the max I'd go would be 18 degress,,,but you also have to run a higher octane gas than the 87...

ok...but what does the higher timing actually do for the car???? and why is the higher octane important for that???

Really briefly, here's what happens

Essentially, advancing the timing adds a couple of HP. It also increases the possibility of engine detonation, or "dieseling". You need to run a higher octane gas to prevent detonation.

I know there are better explanations out there, so that's why I'm not listing one here, but this is the bottom line on advancing the timing.
