Anyone noticed a creaking spring type noise when they step on their throttle in certain situations (like when you are at low speeds and the engine isn't too loud). I hear it now that its warming up here in MA. Didn't notice it during the cold temps. Lemme know if you have had a similar experience. I may bring it to the dealer soon but of course they probably won't be able to reproduce it... I hate dealer service depts!

Spring creaking is common in aftermarket replacements, especially if you didn't change your shocks. Haven't noticed anything in the stocks, but it is possible.

I think he means the actual spring for his accelerator.

I've read similar posts on this problem, but I haven't experienced it myself.

I'll have to operate the throttle by hand next time I am under the hood. I've driven my car in temps down to 0 degrees Farenheit and haven't heard that noise yet.

Dont worry about it. I had that same problem but it went away after a week.

I brought my car in last week for this problem. I think they put wd40 on it or something. but it still squeeks.
I wouldn't worry about it too much- May be it needs to be broken in? (or so I'm hoping)

Personally, I think it's just the sound a spring is going to make by being a spring.

My 92 Topaz did it until I traded it in.

Well fellas I've also got 13k+ miles on it and the gas pedal has been used a lot trust me ;-) And I don't think that it should be making any noise regardless. Who the heck is gonna accept that in any car, even a KIA or something. It seemed to actually start as temps were WARMING UP not getting colder. Seemed like once it got into the 40's recently in Boston that I heard it. IF you guys have taken it to the dealer and its the same after it seems pointless... I'll ask anyway. Lemme know if anyone finds out if this is a real prob or more of an annoyance.

Just a note, WD40 is not a lubricant, it is really just a solvent, it will make it worse by washing off any existing lubricant.
