Fixed blown head gasket.
Put everything back together car runs fine except temperature gauge stays on cold and does not move. Replaced thermostat before head gasket repair.
Top radiator hose is hot, bottom is not and heater does not work? what the hell is going on?
Thanks

Might help if you say which model are you working with. Assuming that it's the SE-R or SE-R Spec V, the engine on these cars has two thermostats, one in the water outlet of the head, where the coolant temperature sensor is, and the other one on the inlet for the lower rad hose in the engine block. From what I read the lower one seems to be stuck on "open". Change the lower one, and eliminate the one in the head (your head gasket will thank you later), and see if this solves the problem...

Then it only has one thermostat from what I see in the Factory Service Manual. I'm still inclined on it being stuck. Change it and see if it solves the problem.

Well you've definitely got air in the system if your heater isn't working. However that wouldn't cause it to not get hot. My guess is air in the lines, and a stuck thermostat. Or you installed he hg incorrectly. Start with the easiest and replace the thermostat (again) and burp the air with a coolant funnel. Nissans are picky, so be sure to elevate the front of the car, turn the heat on full blast, and bleed it like that. Give her a few revs ever so often too! Hope this helps!

Temperature

Well turns out the thermostat was stuck open. Replaced it with a new one and it now circulates properly and temps are ok. NOW the problem is rough idle. The two outer cylinders are not firing. Swapped around ignition coils and determined it is not the coils themselves so what would cause the outer cylinders not to be firing????

it was running bad before HG change but i didnt check to see if it was actually running on two cylinders like it is now. I just figured it was running bad because it was leaking coolant into cylinders. Before HG change coolant was leaking into middle two cylinders. I have not seen any leakage now and its the two out cylinders that are not firing.

Not firing may be the wrong term, there is a spark but when i swap around spark plugs and ignition coils there is no change. No matter what i do it is the outer two cylinders that are causing the problem. Also the spark plug is emitting an orangish red spark.

From what I've read the P1320 is related to failed coils....the coils may be firing but the resistance is greater than what's allowed by the ECM. Replace the coils and see if that solves it...
