I'd like to thank the gentlemen who posted warnings regarding this dealership. I was actually in the dealership this past Wednesday night (2/8) and spoke to a dealer about a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE w/pp. They didn't have any in their inventory that matched the options I wanted.

The dealer (short guy, gray hair, 50 years old) who I talked to, tried to convince me that I should settle for a GXE model since the SE was probably too high in price for a younger person like myself (I'm 24). He also belittled my fiance talking to her as if she was a kid. He tried to quote us a price on a fully loaded SE. The price he gave us was nearly $1500 over MSRP!!! No way would I pay $19,000 for a fully loaded SE.

After leaving Suntrup, we went to Lou Fusz and the dealer we spoke to there was extremely friendly. Again, we'd have to order the car, but at least the price he quoted us was below MSRP. They are asking $15,800 for a nearly fully loaded Sentra SE manual/pp (only option not getting 6 cd-changer).

Does anyone here have any comments good/bad about Lou Fusz before we order the car?

Thanks,

MK

My humble oinion is you tell the dealer what you want to pay and not vice-versa. Check out Edmunds.com and find out what Edmunds says is a fair price for that car. I think they call it TMV? True Market Value. Anyway if you are ordering the car you should be able to get it at invoice price as they make all of the "holdback cost" as profit. I still believe the best way is to find the price you are willing to pay and then go to a sight like Yahoo, look up all the dealers in say 100 miles and start calling on the phone. Give them your offer and if they are not interested, screw 'em. You can all but finalize the deal over the phone.

Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

19K is really steep for a SE period.....and as far as the dealer goes he had no rights to even tell you that it's a little pricey for a younger person,,,,should the age really matter,,,no not at all as long as your credit is good and you can afford it who the hell is he to say anything to you?? and as far as belittling your fiance i probably would have knocked him hard,,,,but in your favor i'm glad you went to another dealer,,,,and that they are treating you better,,,but on the downside you'll have to wait till the SE comes in but trust me and I'm sure alot of other people on this board that own the SE's like myself will agree that it'll be worth the wait......

but welcome to the boards by the way
don't be affraid to ask questions either there is alot of people that will help you out the best we can......enjoy your SE

I bought mine at Lynnes Nissan in Bloomfield NJ. I bought on Aug. 22, 2000 I got the car on October 25, 2000 I wouldn't have cared but my salesman told me a few days! And the managers there just said it is a 2001 you could wait months. They just were complete pricks!!!!

I got mine at Wright Nissan in Pittsburgh and they were great. I ended up with SE 5-spd with PP for $16,000 even. I walked in when they opened October 25th and was drving home with at at noon. If there is anyone in Pittsburgh on here I would recommend the dealer to them

I'm here in St. Louis! Don't waste your time at Suntrup. Talk to Paul Hinton at Lou Fusz on lindbergh. He is the best I bought my B13 from him years ago and more recently I bought '01 patherfinder form him. He is great tell him Tony Cardinale sent you and he will look out for you! They are great have never had a problem with them... If you can hold out wait for the new SE-R what a sweet vehicle!

Sounds like you answered your own question. Unless you are the sort that doesn't mind waiting, you might want to get some assurances on delivery time. Some people have had to wait quite a long time for delivery of their SE's.

Clearly the first guy was setting a price to discourage you from ordering an SE. Reason? He had the GXE's in stock.
