short shifter finally installed

Well I finally installed my short shifter this weekend. I did it out at Salt Fest. I also through a momo shift knob on cuz we just cut the knob right from the original shifter.

How many inches did it take off? When I tes-drove a 5-spd SE the first thing that I noticed, was that I wasn't using the knob, I was actually grabbing for gears down toward the boot. Knob looks great!

Yeah, looks nice. I cut mine so i dont know if there is an actual difference. I took out 1 - 2 inches off. I will cut more soon and get a lower shift knob.

How did u get leather, my dealer said that it wasn't an option i really wanted it. do u have to buy new seats or what, Oh yeah who makes your short shifter?.

Levoc has automatic shift knobs with the O/D button but they are exspensive right around $80.00....

yeah, SMC made david and mine. it is adjustable as well. dealers have outside upholsterers that do leather installs for the dealer, like subcontractors. usually runs about $1k.

Most of em have a set screw to take out, then you slide the thing off. There's probably a spring in there and and some wires to hook up for the o/d switch.
