Sentra back end

1184 Views 14 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  SDsr20de858
I have heard many people talk about the back of the Sentra being ugly and they should do something different...(I personally don't see a real problem with the back although I do prefer it w/a spoiler.) but what I'm saying is I get sick of hearing how ugly it is...what or how exactly do they want to change it? I hear complaining but little explanations so how should it look...can anyone think of how exactly it should change? what would you do to make it look better? just wondering...

I bought the car because of other things such as the price, quality of construction, comfort of seats, performance, Nissan reputation, gas milage, quality of ride. Overall appearance is important. I will be owning the car for for a while and then will give it to daughter. Lets face it there are a lot of cars that will look nicer to me by then. So what. I have read the Edmunds report of the ugliness of the back end. You have to remember this is a subjective thing. I read a report like that, try to get the facts on the performance and quality of the car. I then read that statement and say: "whatever" and move on.
I say If you (not "you" in particular) don't like the cars ***-end and that's important- don't buy it. To those who don't like it, don't own one and want to criticize it. It's a free country. As they are out driving, thats the part of our car they will see the most.

It's just different. Only people who love their Sentra don't care about these comments!!!

But the rear end looks a little bit better with the spoiler....

Originally I was one of those "***" people too. Ended up mounting a fuba above my rear windshield and getting slightly larger diameter tips on my tailpipe. Yah yah yah call me ricey.
But anyways, the more I look at the Sentra's butt, the more I kinda like it. It just grows on you. I definitely wouldn't say no to some kind of aftermarket rear valance though.

The first thought that came to mind when I first saw the back end was..."Retro-Jap." The Japaneze makers tend to mimic the German cars, but the B15 seems to be rounding out some 70s import styling. I agree that the spoiler makes a big difference. I like it. It's different. I spend more time looking at the windshield and gauge cluster anyway.

I wish my garage included '67 Toyota 2000GT, several years of 240Zs, my crunched '85 Supra, the last Supra and 300ZX Turbos, Lotus Elise, and my first, a '79 Celica GT.
I felt that same when I saw Jennifer Lopez's behind...but now I am ok with it.

Personally I think the backside of the 2k,2k1 sentra is nice, but not great.

My fave back end it on the Jettas, or BMWs. Those cars look great from behind.

As for J.Lo, she is the best design going.

I definitely think it grows on you...The first '00 Sentra I saw had a spoiler and it was pretty much love at first sight, then I went to a dealer that had both and my first thought was not so great...but of course that's not all I looked at when I wanted this car, after all, I made a wise decision in buying one

I Love My Car, but, sorry, the rear end is butt ugly..PERIOD. The least attractive of all cars in its class and most out of it. That's a fact. The spoiler, thank goodness, makes it palatable.

Even the Elantra has a better back end. It agree the Jetta and of course the BMW have sweet rears. The Jetta's being in our class makes me envious.

My beef with the sentra rear end was the bumper seems to stick out too much. Otherwise w/ the spoiler on, I love it.
