Registered today. Was searching for a part for my 2003 SER SpecV and found a thread from 2006 where a person wanted to sell one cheap. Not much chance that one is still available. Posting the part number here may be against the rules, so I am not doing that.
Bought my car on eBay in 2007 and flew to Philly to drive it home to NC. Now has about 60K miles on it with very low expenses for upkeep. Mostly drive it 20-40 miles each weekend.
Wife refuses to drive it but is OK with riding along. Has exhaust headers, cool air intake and "coffee can" muffler, already installed when I bought it.
Crank position sensor is the only unscheduled maintenance item that has been required since I have owned it. Fun car.

welcome aboard!

you can post part#s or anything else related to your vehicle, esp if may help someone in the future.

its good you already have a header, if you didnt, you might have a coffee bomb instead of a motor.

On another thread, a person with the identity ricesux posted in 2006 as having an extra 75896-AU000 shield.
I need that part.
It goes under the car on the right front and turns up slightly onto the inner fender in front of the axle shaft. Apparently this exact part is on the SER only and not on the 1.8 Sentras. I do have a number of sources for new parts, but would enjoy the savings of finding surplus new or good used. Most dismantlers/wrecking yards just rip the part off the cars.
According to my search, ricesux has not posted to this forum in several years. But activity by that identity has been found at forums for a number of other car brands. So ricesux is/was an enthusiast, or multiple individuals.
The 1.8 Sentra apparently uses a different part number for this shield, if it has one, from the part used on the SER.

just use google shopping and search for the part#. there are a few online nissan outlets that will have that piece for you. i would def get the right side, since thats where all your pulley are, you dont want them getting caked up and ruin the pulleys or seals. you could probably just custom a piece of plastic as well, as long as it serves its purpose.

My shield is all there, split part of the way. The push-in fasteners are gone but the bolts under the fender are holding. For quick fix, I used the plastic ties for the push-in (PU) fasteners and drilled holes near the end of the split and used a tie there to hold it together. Seems sturdy for the moment. Dealer wants $132 plus tax, online is about $85 plus shipping. I plan to remove it when time permits and probably will bridge the split with 28 gauge sheet metal on the top of the shield. Pop rivets with reinforcing washers should hold. Will get new push-in fasteners as no good substitutes come to mind.
I think the shield is HDPE and thermal welding or mechanical fasteners are the only practical choices for repairing it. No glues for this material.
The ties through the holes for the PU fasteners are tricky to push/thread into place.
I prefer to keep the cash in my pocket as long as possible.

i know at the local parts store there are universal and american style plastic push clips, they usually are fairly cheap and sometimes work better than the oem ones. for that plastic crap i used zip ties for a while as mine split a long time ago as well. now i just have the side plastics in place to protect the pulleys, the pieces that were under the radiator area are gone.
