Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone has considered getting rid of their stock LSD and putting in a helical quaife atb diff instead. This is the same diff that is being installed on the new se-r's. The pricing is kind of high ($995), but it seems like it's completely worth it. I did a search for this and didn't find anything, so I don't know if this has been previously discussed or not.

My friend's GS-R has that diff.

It's awesome on the racetrack but.....

It has "blown apart" twice under sedate driving conditions!

Go figure.

I believe the Qualife comes with a lifetime warranty.

Blown apart?

I thought those Quaifes were supposed to be tough. What happened to it, exactly? Sure sounds awfully fishy for a 1,000 buck part to be breaking, especially one with a lifetime warranty.

On the other hand, replacing the stock diff with the Quaife also means you can mess with the effective axle ratio, correct?
