ive had this code on the car for a while...didnt think i was anythiing but bad gas mileage untill i got on here and started reading...how long do i have before my motor craps out??? i dont drive hard(always have my kids with me) but i do drive alot....what kinda danger am i in and how long...i wont be able to do anything for a month...

depending on your year model, if you have a qg18 you have some time to spare, if you have a qr25 i would stop driving it asap until it gets repaired.

remember to check for exhaust leaks, particularly around the o2 sensors. really the only way to tell is a compression test, then leakdown test if necessary. otherwise youll only see the damage when you pull the motor apart. if bad gas mileage is your only issue, you are considered lucky, if your losing oil and its not ending up on the ground, youre very unlucky.

i wish i could quit driving it, its the only thing i got right now...and i still got a trip to stl and back before i can change it out with a header...no oil leaks yet just bad gas...and its stll got good power n hills and stuffalls i can do is pray...sad thing is that isnt the only thing ive found wrong with this car....i hate used cars...its an 02 spec v

well i just got my new header on and all the extra pieces i didnt know id need, i reset my codes changed the oil and the old plugs, went for a good long drive....no knock sensor code or any other codes for that matter, hopefully hopefully oil consumption is low , and it seems to be running real strong...

Like idk68 said you should try to take care of this issue. If you pull up the definition of the codes it will tell you the break down points of poss causes. Since you have a spec-v you should consider not letting this escalate.
