Here are pics of my car with the stromung and Hotshot CAI. It took me all day to put them both in cuz I ran into some little problems.

Looking good John! I love the way the exhaust looks on the car. hehe. :)

One question on the Hotshot. What did you end up doing on the fenderwell hole? Did you cut, or not? I gotta get mine installed this week. I'm borrowing a Dremel tool, but I want to limit the amount of cutting and grinding I do.

no need to cut..... havent i said this already? not to be redundant..... but save yourself some time and effort and just bend the hole out bigger and use a rubber tube as a grommet for the hole. Trust me..... it works..... quite fine i might add..... click my pics to see how i did it.

Niiiicceeeeeeee! I love the way the Stromung looks on the car! Almost sleeperish. But a keen b15 eye can tell the difference. Looks sweet!

I was going to ask about the CAI too. Couldn't quite tell from the pics. Did you end up opening the hole a little bit?

yah..... we just used some pliers and bent the hole out....... you really cant tell because you dont have to bend it out that much..... just enough to have the CAI go through the hole freely without scraping.... when you try to put the piping throught the hole stock..... its scratches the piping like crazy

See, that is what I was worried about. There is no sense in scratching the tube up. The best solution would be to line the cutout with a split piece of hose or something. I'll try bending the metal with the pliers first. I have to find time to install the thing first though. haha.

Oh... heheh! I was asking Radium John about his install. Sorry 858. BTW good to see ya again man. I think I remember you mentioning that you bent your fender hole open. I did that too when I installed my PR CAI. Sorry bout the confusion.

I'm takin my CAI out this week and bringing my "18 MPG Ford Excursion" back to the dealer next week. I wonder what they're going to say about my deformed fender hole. :D

You wanna talk about scratched pipes? Come see me... :(

I actually just shaved the hole down with a dremel. I didn't cut the battery side...I just trimmed the other side about a quarter inch. I was going to bend it like 858 did but my buddy lent me his dremel so I said "why not". I then took some grey rubber piping (off of some old speaker wire) and cut it and applied some silicone (the clear kind that you caulk bathtubs with) so that it will stay put. Overall, it was not bad.

I did run into a few problems with the exhaust though. I stripped one of the 14mm bolts that connect the A-pipe to B-pipe so I had to whip out the handy dremel and cut the factory pipe off :) Then when I went to install the pipes, the nut that Stromung gave me to connect the midpipe with the exhaust didn't fit the bolt. So I had to drive with half an exhaust to Home Depot to pick up a new set of nuts and bolts.

I also have a hose in the engine bay that is not connected to anything. Does anyone else have this? It's the candy cane shaped hose near the firewall, just under the strut bar. Maybe I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and let you guys figure it out...

I LOVE the way the stromung muffler looks stock!! I hate to have a big muffler on the back of my car because it attracts attention from the 50.

Can I just purchase the muffler and change the midpiping later on? What my question should be is: Is the muffler an item that stromung regularly makes? or was that custom along with the midpiping?

SR20DE..Sorry Si guys.

I remember talking to Styling and Darkside about this before the board went down. From what I understand, we're assed out cuz this isn't a Stromung production item. I guess you could call it "limited edition".

Maybe if we could get another 12 people interested, Stromung will do a "gen II" exhaust. :D

I wis I was rich like you guys who bought Stromung's. They sound and look like a really good exhaust. My fiance would kill me if she knew I was spending money on the car.

Hey rschauby-
I have a solution to how you can get funds to mod your car. Look on your fiance's left hand and you'll find something that you can sell for a lot of $$$ :) just kidding.

I'm a newlywed myself (only married 6 months) and I remember when I was gonna propose. Man, all that loot on a really shiny rock.

Is your 98 SER modded? If so, then just focus on one car. I used to have a 94 Accord until last month when it got stolen and stripped. I took the insurance money from my old baby and now it's invested in my new baby...aka stromung, CAI and headers. going for a totally sleeper look cuz I learned my lesson from my Honda. thieves like loud shiny things :)

NOTE TO SELF: RUN TAG

:D kidding john!

See my wife was the same at first but I kinda pulled a fast on on her I actually made her prior to me buying the the Stromung and had her look at the old pipe and muffler and she saw the rust all over it and then I stressed how good the Stromung is Stainless Steel and what not and I told her that it'll last probably longer than the I own the car,,,and plus my dad happened to be there at the time and he helped me out with telling her "ya Stainless steel exhaust are great" (Thanks dad :D) and she said ok go ahead and get it..... :D but I hope she doesn't read this,,,,so please everyone SHHHHHHH!!!!!! ;)

I'm pretty much in the same boat as rschauby, I'm just not engaged yet. But she id expecting it(the damn ring) sometime this year, so all that money that could go on a car is going on her finger! I too get bitched at for buying goodies for my car, she says I need to grow up(Hell I'm only 21!).later

I know what you mean when you talk about that ring. She even says she wants a bigger rock before I buy anythumg else. It seems like nothing is good enough for them. I probably could get away with mods she couldn't notice like an ECU and headers but that's a $1000 dent in the bank account.

Warning to all young guys, never get in the habit of letting your girlfriend know how much money you have or she'll watch you with eagle eyes forever!

See I am one of those weird girls I guess. I would much rather have a Stromung exhaust for my car then a huge rock on my finger. I hate wearing rings b.c I work on my car too much and I don't want to have to keep taking it off ,so I just don't wear them. True I'm not married or engaged ,but hey I'm only 19 lol. But anyways, I would take the exhaust over the ring any day .
