Recently bought my second B15, went through hoops to get it, but didn't expect a cake walk. It had a high/ surging idle when I viewed it.

It drove fairly fine... then the problems started.
Smogged... failed.
Restarted after smog... engine shook... turned off.. restarted.... everything fine aside from idle problem.

Eventually the motor started to stall at lights...
Now the motor wont start, it tries... but just wont.

Suggestions??

I have a complete motor from my previous Wrecked car + ECU, trans and halfshafts....

EDIT: check your battery terminals, make sure they are tight and free from corrosion. also make sure the ground has good contact. check your battery voltage motor on & off. hopefully you didnt fry the ecu yet



not sure if you have a 1.8 or 2.5, ...2.0?

well, you got a cat code p0420 there. so... you could possibly have to rebuild the motor from cat failure, esp if it gets to bad random/multiple misfiring p0300, also in your case, maybe buy another catted header . you could also check the o2 sensors, make sure they look ok in case they are causing the cat code p0420. otherwise i would check out the iat sensor, or maf, whichever your model. and you already knew about the p0507 high idle

Been trying to trouble shoot it since I got it.

Seller said it had been rebuilt, but never said by who... likely his Dad in the back yard or barn sized garage!

It's a 2.5 by the way.

Head gasket needs to be replaced... actually got it started for a 5 min period about 2 hours ago. Added water to radiator.... then it died.... pulled plug #1 and it was wet..... again!

Motor should be coming out next weekend, and hopefully get the other prepped and in.

Free parts are a good thing!
