The system in my 04' has a stock sub, but it is mounted in the rear deck. Also my deck didn't say rockford on the front. There was an extra harness that plugged into the stock deck that I believe is for that sub. Anyone got this setup working?

mounted in the rear deck ? i have never seen that..even in my 04. the only RF component of the whole system is (maybe) the head unit by the way.

^^ I have the same setup as you do (but mines an 02). Clearly you dont have the RF stereo option on your car.

If your sub is hanging from the rear deck on the left side, then you have the 7-speaker, 180-watt system. You won't need to do anything "special" to get your aftermarket headunit working with the factory sub, as the factory sub grabs a line-level (speaker) input from the wiring harness as it crosses the back deck on the way to the rear speakers. Built into the basket hanging below the sub is its 80-watt amp.

You will, however, not have control of the sub through any onboard subwoofer adjustments your headunit may offer.

When I connected my aftermarket HU to the car, my sub stopped working completely, but when I put the factory one back on, it starts working again.
