with utmost certainty. when the precat deteriorates, the ceramic particles can get sucked back into the motor and cause internal damage.

Welcome the boards.

I bought my Megan Racing header from mosaic motorsports, located in California. Just look up the site on google.

If you want to buy used, there might be something for sale in the buy/sell section of the forum here.

if you cant afford a good header, there are some on ebay. those are still a lot cheaper than replacing your motor ;)

but how good are they? i do also have a warranty on the engine.
the oem style header with the precat would fall under your emission warranty. if you dont have an emission warranty, the header failure that blows your motor will not be covered under your motor or powertrain warranty.

as for ebay headers, most of the headers are good, with some people have few problems cracking or peeling. ive had my ebay header for a good 6+ years, it just looks like crap but its not cracked. if youre willing to pay around $200, markspecv markracerx on facebook has a few options for you. just fyi, the 4-1 headers bolt to your midpipe. the 3pc headers 4-2-1 you remove the stock midpipe.

yes, the single header, just the 4-1 with stock midpipe is a precat delete
so a 4-2-1 header is a precat delete and cat delete

you have a precat on your header
you have another cat on your midpipe
and most aftermarket midpipe do not come with cat, they have resonator

make sure you keep your old exhaust header and midpipe intact, you will need to use them to pass your smog test if youre in cali!!!

if you delete both cats, it will get louder and a bit raspy since there will be minimal backpressure

use the anti-foulers on your lower o2 sensor, dont waste your time with an o2 sim.

search for the thread on this. you need two antifoulers, you drill one out so it fits your o2 sensor, then you couple the anti-foulers together to make a spacer for the lower o2 sensor. 2002-2003 the lower o2 is on the manifold, 2004-2006 the lower o2 is on the midpipe.
