Need some suggestions

554 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  2000SE
Ok I'm looking at buying some new rims. I really like the 10 spoke rims. I want to find some 17's. What I need help with is brands to stick with and brands to stay away from as far as weight and cost. Im looking for something right around $1000 for rims and tires. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Well we had a little conversation before bout some rims...Me n a bunch of ppl really dig Mille Miglia rims. They look really sweeet on sentras and some of them cuz of their design makes em look like 18's. My fav's are the EVO's (sick) and the MM11-2 which have this sweet sunk in look. U can see them at tirerack.

I think someone makes 10 spoke ones that look sorta like the Tantrums if you like that look, i think the brand might be 5zigen. I got this cool wheel guide here with all the weights, sizes, brands, etc. from SC mag last year. Might wanna look for it comin up. I know Stern racing makes a 10 spoke job thats i think 23lbs. Oz makes some real nice spoke rims, they might be a little costly though. A guy here at school has a civic with TR Motorsports 10 spoke rims that look sweet. I believe those are around 20lbs. Theres some really lightweight 8lb wheels but they don't look as perty.

Brands that i know are good are Konig, TSW, OZ, Fittipaldi, Kosei, SSR, etc. etc. Theres a bunch of em.

Good Luck

I really like the new TSW Fly's. That is either an 8 or 10 Spoke. I think they would look good on the Sentra, although I am not sure if they are available in a 4X114.3

Konig Tantrums are cool, but I am not sure how they'd look on the Sentra. You should be able to find them pretty cheap though. I bet you could get a set of 17's with tires for around a grand. I've always liked the Monsoon aswell. Even though it is only a 5 spoke, they look cool. :)

Your price range is going to severely limit your choices. Getting a 17 inch wheel and tire package (with all the extra's like lug nuts and what not) at 1,000 dollars is tough. Your definetly gonna have to stick with cheap tires like the Kumho Ecsta 712's. Figure that tires are gonna cost around $400 minimum. That leaves $600 for the rims and misc. items. So, AT MOST you can spend $150/rim. That doesn't get you far on a 17. YOu might want to save up some more money before making the purchace. Having say $1500 to spend will give you many more choices, and allow you to buy the wheels of your dreams vs. what you can afford now.

I like the Tornado's. I think those would look great on the Sentra. They are a little over the budget though, aren't they?

I decided that I am going to have up up my budget and just add that amount on to the loan i got for my car. that is if my parents agree to give me another loan for the rims/tires lol

I kinda liked the white/blue ones b.c that is my color scheme for the eninge bay, but its not going to be on the outside of the car so it would look dumb lol

Damn! I have to admit the tornados are great. My brother and a friend were trying to talk me into doing the black/yellow theme on my car. And I had seen Team dynamics yellow wheels. Save up and get em I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

That doesn't seem like a bad price, but you might want to check around first to make sure you can't find a better deal.

too bad that site doesnt have one of those nifty flash things to see what the rims would loook like on the car. Maybe I should suggest it to em.

Yeah check around first for other places...you don't wanna kick yourself l8r for finding it cheaper elsewhere.

Those seem like good choices.
