The little bulb that lights the vent and temperature control knobs burnt out in my car. I found this place for a replacement led. http://led-switch.com/12 volt LED.htm. Radio shack let me down. An internet search showed that others that had this problem either went to junkyards to get the bulb out of a wreck or they were going to have to pay the dealer to replace the whole electrical circuit as replacement bulbs were not available.

The bulb in the car is 5mm but i put a warm white with water clear lens 3mm in. The "wires", or anodes, are too short to go thru the blue body the LED goes in so I cut it down to fit the led I had. The led I bought had a MCD rating of 3000 and IS bright enough to work. There are 3mm white diffused leds on the link above that would be long enough to not cut the blue led holder down but I don't know if they are bright enough to work. The 5mm diffused white has the same length anodes as the 3 above but the blue led would have to be cut down. That looks like it would work.
