Looks great. Especially with that ticking time bomb of an exhaust manifold there

This thread describes the issue:

http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=135241

Even if you throw a code, is that worse than burning your oil in 1000 kms of driving and blowing your headgasket? (what happened to me).

To be honest...I bought my car while it was burning oil for cheap. Didn't even think it would become such a big issue so soon...but it did.

Anyway...as far as removing the code, that thread has suggestions. I've tried the antifowler trick but have unfortunately had no luck yet (even with two). It is possible that my O2 sensors are burnt from the old engine. I can't confirm if it worked on my 05 engine until i get new sensors in...

Well, I don't think it is a requirement to do the full exhaust. Just a header. You can probably find a cheap one here in the parts area. I bought mine from mosaic motorsports in California (they shipped to Alberta). Sucks that it is such a big issue, especially for those that don't really want to mess around with mods.

If i order just a header will it bolt right up to the factory midpipe and exhaust? If i buy a header will i have to buy any other exhaust components like midpipes,catbak,ect....

I bought just a header and it bolted right up to what I believe is the factory midpipe. However, my muffler is aftermarket and to be honest I have not confirmed whether or not the rest of my exhaust is stock. I woudl suggest confirming that question with someone who has a bit more pipe knowledge than myself.

hopefully you already read the thread here:
http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=135241

you only need a header to replace the precat, the cat on the header. most 4-1 headers bolt up to the midpipe without much issues. so with the header youll need the manifold gasket, and the lower donut. other stuff like bolts, springs, and nuts, you replace if you break/strip them. you will also need 2 antifoulers that have same thread as the lower o2 sensor. youll want the antifoulers on the secondary o2 sensor on your midpipe. you may have to drill out one antifouler so it fits over the o2 sensor on the midpipe.

creating all the flow with the intake doesnt make it easier for the precat to stay intact.

with the p0420 cat threshold below efficiency code, the car will be driveable, but may have some hesitations until you clear/fix the code. also you wont have very good gas mileage, it either runs in open loop or runs rich, or both, i dont remember which. you will much appreciate the anti-foulers on the lower o2, esp since youll already be down there unbolting the midpipe. the antifoulers are like $6/pair.

hehe...

anyone gonna break the news about the butterfly screws?

OP, your upper intake manifold is also gonna have to come off also...
Good thing i got a 2yr warranty with the used car.....I also found a magnaflow header with a pre-cat already on it......which will work and throw no codes....When the butterfly issue arises it will get fixed when the code appears...Nissan told me about the butterfly issue and told me to bring it in when its a problem, What code will it throw for the butterfly issue?
