whatsup i own an 06 spec v and im always looking for tips for modding.
i have full greddy ti-c exhaust with a nismo cold air intake..i just picked up a pair of OBX ss racing headers..but would like to know if i should run it with a high flow resonator and if so how long 14''? 18''?:confused::confused Thankyou!

obx makes a couple of headers for the specv, are you referring to the one piece 4-1 headers, or the three piece 4-2-1 headers...?

really it depends on how loud youre willing to listen to your exhaust. once you begin removing the cats, the sound starts getting very loud. if youre getting the one piece 4-1 headers, you will still have your cat in your midpipe + the resonators on your ti-c. removing both cats, or having straight pipes, even with a resonator will still be fairly loud.

dont forget to keep your oem/stock header intact if you live in a smog or visual inspection state, you may need it for inspections. ideally, the length of the resonator is usually the lenth of a straight pipe in the exhaust, for which you can cut out the straight piece, and weld in the new. im not sure the length, as you might want to put the new resonator on your header/midpipe, you would need to measure this.

I have the OBX SS Racing Headers 4-2-1..and with the ti-c its already extrtemly loud so im if anything i want it to be as loud as it can..will it sound better with a resonator though?or will it queit it down...i just ordered an OBX universal high flow res 18''...and also my check engine light is on readings for o2 sensors...one of my good friends told me to get spacers and it should turn them off...have you ever heard of this?? and thankyou for taking the time to answer me i apprciate it alot!

well, if you really dont care how loud it is, then you really dont want a resonator, the straighter the exhaust, the more power youll have, not that you lose a lot from one resonator. i mean, you can get ticketed for noise pollution with an exhaust that loud, but is entirely up to you. adding a resonator will tone it down some, adding a cat will add back pressure, reduce the amount of backfires, and exhaust fumes wont smell so bad. i know the ti-c sounds really good, and already has a resonator, unless you removed it of course.

as for the length of your resonator, im not sure, youll probably want it on that straight piece of your obx header.

youll want some antifoulers, or spacers, on your lower o2 sensor, this is the o2 sensor that was on your midpipe. youll want two spacers together, to space the o2 away from the exhaust stream. check this out:

you can clear your codes with a scanner or pedal dance, sometimes it doesnt clear right away and requires some driving. while your ses light is on, you will most likely be getting very crappy gas mileage.
