Ok, i about 4 months back i bought my wife a Sentra SE-R Spec V. I bought it from a small dealer that i use to work for. Before we bought it she had the ECM flashed because of the oil light coming on. About a week after we bought it the engine the dealer put in it fried the valves(bad used engine). 3 months later we got the car back, first day it throws a code for the #2 O2 sensor, he mechanic kept clearing the code. A couple weeks ago i put a muffler on the car, than it started throwing P1128 (Throttle Control Motor). The engine loses all throttle response. i took the car back and they had it for a day and supposedly "fixed it." Now today the car lost throttle response again and again and again. I have my wife take it over to the dealer who's "tech" pulled a P0605 (ECM) code:confused:. I've found on here that, that code usually means that the ECM is toasted. The dealer is trying to blame the muffler:mad:, which as someone who spent 5 years at different dealerships i know all a muffler does is muffle the sound of the exhaust:D. only other things i have done to the car are replace the headlights and fog lights with brighter ones and re-paint the front calipers because the paint from the guy before was peeling off. If anyone has any in sight or links to other posts that may help me, please i beg of you, this is our only car.

they changed the ecu for the oil light? how about leveling off the oil, lol. most likely the car suffered tragically. to get info on what happened to cause oil consumption, read this:

this also explains your #2 o2 sensor failure, it was probably the cat failed but ecu threw the o2 code first.

and yes, a 605 is ecu fault. hopefully you checked all the ground and power going to the ecu. there are many grounds just for the ecu, check and reground every single one. if you pulled the ecu and it rusted to death that could be a reason too. otherwise, ecu failure can be cause by a bad/loose battery terminal connections, including bad battery ground. once the ecu looses ground, it will ground thru the coils packs, toasting a coil or two first, then the ecu.

for the throttle body, check the blue and green connectors, sometimes they come loose, otherwise you may need a new/reman throttle body. you will need to do all 3 relearns. however, this could be messed up cause of the ecu failure and not throttle body failure.

Dealer thinks its the exhaust huh? Mention the words magnusson moss warranty act and see what they think of that.

If you are not familiar look it up on google. It basically says the dealer has to prove that an aftermarket part caused said failure.

as for the oil light, it was coming on after they replaced the engine the first time, after driving it for 1000 miles the valves were chattering so bad I towed it over to her shop. They replaced the engine and now i'm having these issues

i believe to completely and accurately test the ecu, you need to use a consult, the computer that the nissan dealership used to use. which most smaller dealerships do not have.
