Hey guys--

Just started on this and just bought a 2001 Sentra SE. Give me some shouts as far as ideas and what you would do first!

Also...I bought that extended warranty through Nissan. What things can I do without voiding that? Any guys that have the know on that?

Thanks in advance!!!

hey

welcome man, wassup? hope you like it here, I love it. I would suggest going the old intake, exhaust, header, high flow catalytic route if you want some power for relatively cheap. The best mod you can do is get Nitrous, I suggest the Venom kit($1100), cuz the Zex NO2 kit requires 4.2Volts and our car only has 4Volts at Wide Open Throttle(WOT). I have cold air intake and exhaust for now, header coming in next week, and Venom Nitrous in a month, I also have a machinist friend who wants to help me out(wants to get into the import racing scene). So if you got any questions let me know, you can buy a 3inch square post bracket and drill it to fit into the MAF, and then buy a cone filter and make yourself a nice warm air intake for like $30 dollars or less.

Definately, get it breathing first. I've got a JWT POP Cone Intake and will be getting exhaust next month (still haven't decided between HKS and Stromung, wish GReddy was a choice.)

cuz I gotta wait for JWT

I'm waiting for JWT to come out with their ECU before going turbo, and that might take as late as March maybe later of next year. For now I am going to stick to N/A for a month or two, then Nitrous.

Hey drag, I was talking to jwt and some other people. On that turbo they are still trying to figure out the 96 year cars so it will be a while before they get to our model years! probably later than march.

Thanks for the help 2k1DragSentra!

One thing that really messes me up is that the mods for Nissan 2000s and later are hard to come by. I mean, I am also looking to see if there are any body kits out and things like that....

But, thanks again for the help! I will let you know if I need more assistance!

cool

Bodykits thus far are made by http://www.westcoastspoilers.com, and by http://www.spoilers.com aka-Erebuni. Wings West is supposedly thinking on working on something but nothing solid yet, http://www.altezzalights.com should be done with our car specific Altezzas by the end of this month. HKS, Stromung make exhausts. http://www.importpartsplus.com sells both the HotShot and Place Racing ColdAirIntakes, most people have PR CAI but I have and love the HotShot CAI. The best header you can get is either the HotShot or the AEBS from Group 5. ask someone else cuz I dont have AEBSs number. Later

and,

I have talked to Ben and others at JWT and they are working on the 98-99 ECU right now, the 95-87 cars computers are primarily almost the same, the 2000-2001 are up next in the list, and as soon as race season is over they are going to start on them, sometime this November. So he told me it should take to around February to start manufacturing them. BTW the camshafts are going to be done in 2 months, that will be another worthwhile purchase.

laf....

Ben said the same thing last year at this time. I'm not going to say he is a liar but they really do have more important things on their plate. We are way way down the list. Basically don't take any of their time frames seriously, just wait and if it suddenly shows up then be happy. Remember people with 98's have been waiting for 3 years, why is a small (yes we are) group going to take less time then cars that have been out for over 3 years.

You have to be a realist in this industry or you will only be disappointed.

yeap, your right

I really dont care how much time it takes, I will just wait, In my opinion it is better for a computer that will be made specifically for our cars. Like I said, I have a machinist friend that is willing to help and hook me up, so I do not mind staying NA/Nitrous until the computer comes out. Anywho, it is going to cost me around the same price to get my auto tranny to be able to handle the turbo power, plus I am going to make it into shiftronic. But all in due time, I am taking things very relaxed and just letting it flow as it comes...
