Hi I own a 2012 Nissan Versa 1.8 l s and I'm having some real issues on the highway when going uphill. I am tacking around 3,200 RPMs at the highway speed limit of 70 mph. Once I hit in a significant incline my speed drops rapidly I usually lose about 10 mph though in some cases 15 to 20 mph. I bought this car thinking that between the manual 6-speed and the 1.8 l which is the largest engine for the car that there would be plenty of torque and power left over for these types of situations. The engine is burning oil but I believe it's a solenoid that needs switched out. I really don't want to mod my intake and exhaust on a car like this mostly because it seems like it would do more harm than good. I know I'm not a central owner but I came here to discuss the 1.8 hoping to get some insight. Anything you guys and gals can come up with would be super helpful.
