3 years is a very long time for a vehicle to sit, hopefully youve changed all your fluids, including your gas. and check it well for leaks.

Thanks. I will change the fluids and buy a new fuel filter. My license was suspended for about 2 years and did not drive the car that much after it got reinstated. Then some @$$hole side swiped my driver side quarter panel on Christmas eve. Which now I want to get it back on the road. I had read something about the precat and switched to a megan header. It has this bad sputtering and stalling problem before I parked it. Any ideas?

you probably read the precat and butterfly faq:

there isnt an external fuel filter, so youll need to see what actually comes out of your fuel tank, and determine if its good or bad, same with your radiator.

did the stalling start after your header install? did you put antifoulers on the lower o2 sensor? do you have any ses codes? hopefully your precat didnt eat the motor, and hope your compression is good.

No, the stalling started a few days after I replaced the spark plugs. When I did the header I installed a spacer for the o2 and didn't get a check engine light. Thanks for the that write up on the butterfly screws, I always assumed that I had to remove the entire intake to get to them.

did you empty out your fuel tank from all that bad gas? bad gas will give you that stalling problem. otherwise, how is it stalling? when you startup, does it idle? or just drop dead? does it only stall when you drive? etc? really you need some codes, but dont forget to check your battery terminals for tightness and good ground contact, check your battery voltage motor on & off?
