Guess what...I crashed my car today

Yup...after azninvasion and ill3, I'm next.

I was driving on Storrow Drive (in boston) and there was a sharp curve. I was going faster than regular traffic (but then I have the PP so I CAN) and in the middle of the turn I think my right front tire blew out cuz the car just lost it. I've done this turn at MUCH faster speeds before and had no problems with it. the tail started to swing out to the left so I did the opposite lock thing but the car actually turned futher left until I did a 180 and hit the curb. My front right suspension is AFU and my back rim has a huge notch in it. The frame is also slightly bent. Gosh, this is a crappy week. Does anyone know if the Sentra SE has the same model tire as the Altimas that Firestone had a recall on?

In case you wanted to know, my wife and I were both not hurt. :)

Glad to hear that everyone is ok and that you did not run into anyone. It is also good that you did not get a ticket so your insurance won't go up. Unlike me, I got f*cked every single way! Except for the fact that noone was hurt, and that's the MOST improtant.

The tires for the SE are not the same as the altima. The size is different. The model tire is exactly the same, but they only recalled the larger size tire. I believe the recalled one was 205 not 195.

I'm glad that everyone who has been in an accident this past week are ok. Thats all that matters.

Usually things come in three, so hopefully there are no other wrecks. We're, as a group, beginning to push our luck on being able to walk away from these things.

Maybe the month of April is just plain bad. April 12th was the day a drunk driver hit my Dad's 75 Corvette, the remains of which are below.

As for the tire recall, they were the same tires, but 205/55, not the 195/55 our car uses. Have you let the dealer know your speculations about the tire blowout?

so so so terrible.
im sorry for your loss amigo!

i went through the same with my 98 GXE in August 10 2000, but its a long long story that i dont want to tell.

I JUST WISH THAT WE WOULD ALL BE CAREFUL AND PATIENT.
I WAS SUSPENDED FROM THE CARWASH TODAY,
WHY?
WELL, I WAS LATE COMING IN (bout 5 minutes, and i got written up!), I CAME INTO WORK WEARING THE WRONG CLOTHES (summer shorts were wrong color), SO I WAS SENT HOME TO CHANGE, I TOOK MY TIME AND THEY SAY THAT I TOOK TOO LONG (verbal warning), AND THEN, I CAME FROM LUNCH LATE (not deliberate though, i was ten stinking minutes late). I WAS SENT HOME AFTER LUNCH.

MORAL OF MY LITTLE STORY THAT HAPPEN TODAY?

better late than never.
better safe than sorry.

(I FACE POSSIBLE TERMINATION WHEN I GO BACK TO WORK NEXT WEEK. BUT I DONT REALLY CARE, I TOOK MY TIME AND GOT THERE!)

bless those of my Sentra buddies and their families and i hope that no one gets hurt!

OH, i ride in a 2001 SE, color = Jaded, has the Super-Sized Performance-Package, 5 gears, why don't i have a gascap holder? plus its got 16 inch 6 spoke alloy wheels by O.E.M., and a small rubber Radio Shack issued antennae.
in da future i wanna a PR CAI, Stillen front-end, and a nice sexy exhaust note.

There's another thought here.. Most of the people on this board are younger and drive their Sentras aggressively. Thats OK if all of the conditions are right. But when on the other side of the turn there is an unexpected condition you have fewer options when you are going 60 instead of 45.

Take myself, I have been involved in 4 accidents in my life (I'm 55). 1 was totally my fault-driving to fast. One was partially my fault. The two others-I was rear-ended. Knowing what I know now - I probably would have avoided all of them. All of my accidents occurred before the age of 30. I haven't had any in 25 years. That doesn't mean I won't have any today or tomorrow. I can tell you that being in a serious accident is an emotional trauma. It's unbelievable.

Believe me most of you will change your driving habits as you get older. Unfortunately all of us (me included) learn the hard way.

Hey I'm not throwing stones, but If listening just a little to this old worn out goat helps, I'll be happy.

Glad you're O.K. RadiumJohn.

Hey John, I'm glad that you're okay buddy. I wrecked in December, and I'm glad that myself and my friend weren't in bad shape afterwards. Now my car looks and drives exactly the same as it was before the crash.

I admit that I'm not the most relaxed driver out there, but when I do feel the need for speed, I still obey using ALL of the courtesies of the road. People don't see me as reckless. Everyone out there, becareful out there! :)

Hey Marvin: Whats up with the modified gas cap holder? Are you the one who lost his cap? The stock one is a POS.

I'm real sorry to hear about your crash, man :( ! But it's great that you and your wife weren't hurt at all. Boy, I hope Y2KSE is right, and we won't have any more crashes...

But just for the record, the Titanic sunk in April, tax day is in April, and my grandmother died in April... bad luck...
