there have been two times when the gas level has been below quarter tank on my sentra, but i havent seen the gas warning light once. on the 97 gxe i had, it would light up whenever it reached quarter tank. haha this sounds dumb and pointless but when will it come on in the 01?

It will not always come on at the same time. You can expect it to come on closer to empty if you are doing highway driving, and sooner with city driving. There is mention of this in the owners manual. I once had it come on when there was only .5 gallons of gas left in the tank!! If I were you, I wouldn't wait for the thing to come on. Just fill it up once you get down to a 1/4 or 1/8 of a tank.

Mine comes on when I have burned up 10.7 gallons. I fill up as soon as the light comes on.
