The last Friday I bring my ´02 Sentra XE to a Service Shop looking for an
complete maintenance service (Oil change, Clean injectors etc.).

I bought my car 2 months ago, and there is the first time that I visited that
Shop,. The point is when I returned back for my car, they had installed a
fuel filter in the middle of a hose that comes to the injectors.

They told me that there is a safe way to keep the injectors cleaned in order
to enlarge the life of them. Also they said that New sentras dosn´t come with
factory fuel filter, and the gasoline comes directly from the fuel tank to
the injectors without any filter.

Is that true?
Has someone installed a typical fuel filter in 00-04 sentras?

My other concern, is that there is a cutted hose wich was cancelled,

please help

the fuel filter is IN the fuel tank as part of the pump.. I have no idea why they would install another inline one.. id check other dealerships.. id think it would affect fuel pressure..

I am not sure it is legal anymore to use fuel filters that don't have disconnect fittings on them. I do like the idea-but if that thing lets loose in the engine: Your Car=Exploding Bomb. -Well that might be an over statement-but notice no one ever puts factory filters in the engine compartment anymore.

The manager told me they always install fuel filters in newest sentras.
In fact, it was an other sentra waiting for a complete service like me.

The car performance is ok, I don,t feel any strange in my car, except when
I open the hood and see that "pinche" fuel filter.

Anyone have fuel filter like me?

Do you recomend to put out the filter?

No way...They're prolly BSing you. Since the fuel filter itself is a part of the fuel pump, there is no way of installing it without pulling out the tank. I call BS on it. And also if you bought your car 2 months ago (assuming its brand new), the injectors can't be that dirty already, not unless you travelled 60k in the past 2 months.

the fuel filter in question was installed inline to the injectors.
