you mean the midpipe came with a resonator instead of a cat? the cat thats on the oem midpipe does a good job of adding some backpressure and quieting it down a bit. but you can put a resonator anywhere on the exhaust, doesnt have to be on the midpipe, just wherever you have room.

The cat-back that I installed came in three peices. Two of those peices are the ones that make up for the Stock section that is directly after the catalytic converter underneath that stops at the rear axle. The smaller section of that peice is where more expensive aftermarket cat-backs like the one that I didn't buy have a high flow resonater in place. If only I would have known that the high flow resonater wasn't included! I would have never bought it. But I am looking for this peice and I am having no luck.

you will most likely not find the correct size/fit piece for your exhaust. you will most likely need a universal weld-in cat or resonator. just bring it to a mechanic or muffler shop to weld it in. the resonator can be a few inches shorter than the length of the straight pipe in your new setup. the straight pipe should be the straight piece that bolt's the midpipe/cat.

I might just end up buying the megan mid pipe section. Given that I"m going to get a peice that i already have. I won't mind throwing away that junk ebay exhaust anyway. Should have just spent the money in the first place.
