Firestone Firehawk RECALL!!

I just saw a report on the news, that Firestone has recalled The Firestone Firehawk GTA 2.0.

They said that most of these are on the 2000/01 Nissan Altimas.

I'm thrown by the 2.0 moniker, are these the tires we have? I'm gonna find a Altima board and get some more info.

If not, can ours be far behind on the recall list?

yes.. recall them... they suck anyways.... my are pretty much burnt.....

i could use some new tires!!!

I found this on CNNfn. It says that the tires in question are the Firehawk GTA-02 P205/55R16, so it doesn't look like our tires are affected (un)fortunately. Looks like I'll actually have to buy some new tires on my own to get rid of those sh*tty Firestones...

You should see a GTA II, the 2 being written in roman number after the GTA.

Why do they recall the tires?

Is it the same for canadian Sentra SE owner?

Why does Firestone even continue to manufacture tires? They have proven that they're unsafe, and of poor quality.

Now, the big question is: What makes the 205/55 16 different than the 195/55 16. They are the same damn tire. God knows all the GTA's, regardless of size are equally crappy.

Even if Firestone recalled Firehawk GTA02 tires in 195/55-16, they would most likely do the same as they did with the Altimas (replace it with a newer version of the same crappy tire).

I wouldn't mind free new tires. I don't care if they suck, they're free.

As for the person who says firestone should stop making tires, that's funny you didn't mention bridgestone, since they are the same company. I have to say they make some good tires. e.g. the Blizzaks are very good winter tires, the winterfire is a good snow tire too.

because only the B15 SE's used 195/55R16. I doubt there were enough problems reported to make a recall on these extremely rare tires.
