2000 sentra 2.0 se.. ok, a couple months back i replaced my engine due to blowing the head gasket on the freeway. i bought it (same exact engine) from some place that imports them from japan, legit place.. after doing the swap a couple codes started to appear. both oxygen sensors, mass air flow and idle control, i replaced.
first oxygen sensor and it cleared both sensors
cleaned air flow and it cleared
cleaned idle/ throttle body but idle still shoots up when i first accelerate or will occasionally just die at a stop
but when reading online iv noticed that the ecm on sentras go out alot.

my question is should i be worried about the idle control or focus on the ecu

also when replacing my engine with the imported one should my ecu have been reprogrammed to the new engine or something? any help with be grateful im just tired of my cars idle jumping like crazy when beginning to accelerate thanks.

im not sure, but i think you can do an idle relearn, not exactly sure, just search for it.

make sure your battery terminals are super tight, and you have good ground contact. the ecu does fail, but from what youre saying, its sounds as if you just have an idle issue, not to say your ecu isnt bad. idle control is much more common problem than ecu failure.

other things that help the motor idle are cam and crank sensors, iacv, egr, etc. theres also room for improperly installed distributor, or even some electrical issue.
