I just bought a 2003 Sentra GXE and noticed today that when braking at slow speeds it has a clunk, clunk, clunk sound coming from the passenger side front wheel area. I can feel it in the floorboard and It seems to do it mainly at slow parking lot speeds and in time with the rotation of the wheel. It doesn't seem to do it as bad when normal braking either, as in going down the road and then coming to a complete stop. Usually when driving normal speed and coming to a stop I will hear one clunk just as the car comes to a complete stop but like I said when driving parking lot speeds and braking I hear a constant clunk, clunk, clunk until it stops. I hope this description is making sense and appreciate any feedback...

Thanks in advance

you really need to check your suspension and brake components and find which one has 'play' in it. if the sound is only when braking, i would assume something is loose there like shims, seals, possibly just a warped rotor or something. check make sure the brakes are in good order, and the fluid is full. it could just be weight shift or suspension movement. it is also possible to be suspension bushing, tierod, balljoint, or something else is loose. you can use the fsm, its download free around here somewhere:

After driving the car this morning and paying closer attention I'm almost positive the clunk is coming from the rear passenger side. I'm going to go ahead and get some new shoes and get them installed as soon as I can and see if that might solve the problem...
