cheap interior materials?

1088 Views 9 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  ChinoTooNice
ive been noticing a lot of scratches on the interior of the car. scratches on the doors from feet running against them when getting out, scratches on the arm rests, 'scratches' on window controllers from fingers....just a lot of scratches from things that dont cause this many scratches. ive tried rubbing some dash/interior crap on them but it does nothing. it just seems like the interior of the car wasnt built to hold up to normal wear and tear (my passengers arent rowdy or anything) does anyone else have these problems?

Yeah man, I have scratches where my left foot rests by the clutch, on that plastic piece. I also have lots of scratches on the plastic going in and out of the car from all four doors. I'm thinking that it's just my shoes and whoevers scratching them everytime we come in and out, not much I can do about it. I also had this problem with my GXE, but I got over it after just Armor All-ing it and making it clean. Still left with scratch marks though..

That's weird. I haven't had that problem yet....and I wear size 13 shoes!
Usually, a product like Armor All or Vinylex will clean up any scuff marks. I guess all I can say is to be more careful! hehe.

put some interior protectors on it. it'll take the scratches out. unless they are deep scratches
Origional Mr. Sentra:

I read a lot of posts on Edmunds Board that AmourAll is an especially bad product to use because of silicones which dry out the vinyl after a period of time. They mentioned a product called, I believe "Vinylex", I use NuVinyl which i believe is O.K. but I can't find the GD thing right now to verify. Hey Man, I can't swear to this theory, but quite a number of people seemed to know about it.

Good deal man, I'll look out for some better stuff. It seems to work though, but to the naked eye, right?

SR20DE..Sorry Si guys.
The first day I had my car, we (g/f and myself) are cruising down the road, when outta nowhere she decides to put her foot on the dashboard to _TIE_ her shoe! Nice little scratch on it now.

But yes, I have those scratches too. I try to be very careful when entering/exiting the car now.

Cut your nails and just watch where your foot is going.
