Hey folks,

Just got my 2001 Sentra SE Radium two days ago. Question: In the center console - in the storage area above the ashtray (below the radio) is there supposed to be a little rubber mat like there is in the upper storage area. My Wife's Altima has one in the similar place in that car, but there isn't one in the Sentra.

I'm asking because I went to put a CD case in there and it slid right out when I stopped a bit short. A little rubber mat would certainly help. If they don't make one I will probably see if size wise the Altima one fits, and if it does get one or if it's bigger then cut it to size for the compartment.....

I don't think there is supposed to be on as I also have a 2001 Radium SE and it does not have a rubber mat. It would be nice, as anything I put in there always goes flying out when I am driving (but maybe that's due to my rapid acceleration

).

My 2001 doesn't have a rubber mat either. What's strange is that Nissan includes a rubber mat in the upper dash storage area where one isn't really necassary, but omits the mat in the location where it would be helpful.

BTW, I think Nissan intended CD storage to be handled by the between the seats storage bin.

mine doesn't have one either. So i don't put anything in there. I've been thinking that I could just remove it and mount something like an equalizer in there in the future.

Mine has the rubber mat as well, but it seems to only hold 1 CD case in place. Stack 2 or 3 and they fly around the interior.

I leave my cellphone in that little valley for the emergency brake handle, and wrap my car charger for it around the handle. Nice and neat.

For those that have it (I seem to be one of the few 2000s that did not receive one

), how is the rubber mat attached? Is it just sitting in there, or is it glued/adhered in?

Just curious, as I want to get one so that I can use that space to hold things (it sucks to have the contents of the box launched at you when you stop), but everytime I seem to take on a project that involves glue or adhesive, it's bad news. Don't want to f*ck up my baby...

no nevermind the one under the radio,,,yes it should have rubber in there you can always goto a hardware store and pick up a little piece of thin rubber and just glue it in....

I don't really have a use for the center storage area. My cel phone goes in the cup holder and the remote for my headunit goes in the valley beneath the hand brake. and all my cds go into my cd folder case. All in all it's a nice setup, with a place for everything and everything in its place

Ya, that space is where the CD Changer would go. The mat is glued/adhered on.
