Cali Smog Checks

963 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Subculture
I went to get my car smog checked and I had to take off my intake. They told me that I couldn't have it and won't pass. My cousin's cars have always done their smog checks with them. Have the Cali Laws changed? Or are they Bull ****ting me?

No the smog laws haven't changed much. However, some shops will disregard the visual inspection and pass your car as long as the exhaust is clean.

Are there any places in southern kali that don't do the visual smog check on cars?? I'm too lazy to take off my intake and my dad threw away my stock one.

Snap. Dont know. If you need the stock you can borrow mine. Have the air horn, filter and everything.
i wish they'd only do the tailpipe test. i mean isn't that what matters anyway? sigh.

Thanks NismoXR. If worst comes to worst, den i'll just have to borrow your stock intake stuff. Hopefully i can find a place that doesn't really bother with opening the hood during a smog test.

Where exactly are you located? I might be able to help. Provided that your car will pass at the tail pipe.
