I understand that the interchange on the SE-R 2.5 is 02-06 for the Altima and Sentra. Is there any chance I can go to the local yards and find a QR in the 2007 Altima that is still the old style QR? As far as I found (by searching the forum), as long as it has the metal intake, it will be the old style engine and I can use it. Is there any truth to some of the 2007 models having old style QR engines?

im not positive on swappable years, but if you have an 02, anything electonics past 05 altima will need to be rewired from the new motor. the new motor alone will fit from certain year altimas, im not sure until which year, but you are correct about the factory plastic intake, those are the newer motors with different mounting locations. the 07+ sentra motor will not fit in your 02 sentra without a lot of work, it would be easier to do a vq swap, over an 07+ swap.
