ok New England roads BLOW! (I'm orig from NY). I nailed a huge pothole last night in the dark and bottomed out the shock. No bent rim but is there anything else I should check for? I not a mechanic so I wouldn't know... Thanks guys.

PS - I searched and didn't see anyone else posting this topic ;-)

It happens. Don't worry too much about it. Just do a visual check of the wheelwell to make sure you didn't bend or break anything. A quick check of the header would be appropriate, most times that's what people hit.

OK Thanks, it looks ok from a quick visual inspection. Hope it holds up. Curse these damn Boston roads!!!

There's a possibility you may have knocked out the alignment. Keep an eye on the tire wear and any differences in steering such as tracking-- does it track straight on a level road?

Ok see that's what I was lookin for. I didn't know to look for something like that. I'll give it a try. The freakin pothole even knocked my radar detector off its bracket! Thanks for the 411.

I'm not too familiar with the laws up in Boston but down here in Florida you can actually get the city to pay for any repairs done to your car as a result of their negligence in not getting those dam potholes fixed.

I haven't done it myself but I know some friends who have, not too sure who you're supposed to call but just wanted to let you know that you might have that option at your disposal.

Wow you can actually do that?!?! How do you prove it? I mean do I just say I hit a pot hole? Take a picture of it? I prob can't/won't do that in this case but interesting to know... Thanks for the info.
