well it was bound to happen, i blew up my new SE, well acutally i didn't blow it up i blew out 3 spark plugs and bent/burnt 4 exhaust vavles. And how you ask did i do this, well Nitrous Oxide. I was running a 75 shot racing my friend..going about 125 when i heard POP POP POP. let off the gas and the NOS and my car was idling really bad pulled out the NOS and took it to the dealer they voided my complete engine and intake warrenty, cause of a hole on my intake tube..oh well..the car is in the shop, but in the mean time while the head is off, 5 angle vavle job, mild port and polish, Ti vavle springs, ported intake manifold, bored throttle body, and a place racing CIA. should have my car back next friday break it in a little and run it. well my best so far at the track was a 14.8 on a 55 shot, not to bad, first to break the 14s. Well just thought u guys would like to know about my experience with my ZEX/NOS kit. i am staying away from that **** from now on and goign NA, i'll get interprep cams later. ok later guys and gals

Any estimate on the repair costs? And why do you always try to act like a badass?

That's not necessary; but it's true! Seriously, don't feel bad. I just got into a stupid stop sign accident and my car is in the shop. I am estimating a good 2-3 months before I get it back. I would rather my car be in shop for a bad performance decision, then a failure to obey a traffic control device!

Now, my insurance is probably going to go up, and I have to pay a deductible. Also, I don't know how well my car will run after I get it back. It's never like new!

If you ran the proper NOS kit that would not have happened. All the SE-R guys have never had a problem running NOS, ZEX has been known to cause problem.

Well i always had a problem with the NOS so i thought i would try the ZEX kit. OH well. the total repair cost were are 1500 then i got the extra work like Ti vavle springs, 5 angel vavle job. etc.. and that added like another 500 in parts and labor so like 2Gs overall. Well i am not sure who said about the ECU, no one makes an ECU for my car, so how could i run a perforance one. well i am selling my kit. the ZEX system was installed like i was in the manual, vacum line from the box to the stock fuel pressure regulator, a vacum line from the box to the intamanifold. and the Nitrous line to the intake pipe. everythign was fine on a 55 shot but then u got greedy and went to a 75. i think the reason i blew my **** is because I don;t have an aftermarket fuel pump. i know if i would have had that i would have been fine. well the SR20de bottom end held up, like always but the head gave in. well i get my car back next week and i will be back on the road. happy racing...later

the zex kit didn't come with a fuel pump? hehe, didn't i also ask u about that last time when u blew up?
#1 problem nos will cause is lack of fuel!!!!
G
The Zex kit comes with a hose that attaches to the fuel pressure regulator. When NOS is activated, it changes the amount of vacuum in the line, thus allowing more fuel to flow to the motor. The problem is that it isn't very precise. You have no way of knowing whether the air/fuel mixture is too lean.

The JWT kit (if/when it becomes available) is the only way to go I think. There are too many question marks with the Zex kit.

OUCH! Can't imagine doing that to a new car. I think I'll wait for a turbo kit to come out.

Well blowing up a motor isn't new to me. i blew up my civic with a GSR in it. oh well. and about the turbo kit, yeah i want to go turbo but a turbo puts stain on the motor at all times, and the same thing can happen with a turbo that happens with NOS, if u don't have enough fuel you can blow your motor. i am not sure about the turbo. i am lowering my car on monday with a eibach sportline kit and putting back in my compotition winning stereo. all in time for the summer. i dont; think i will do anything besides the head work and basic bolt ons, cause in 4 years the car is paid for i will drive it another couple of months and trade it in for a new porsche.
