Are the B15s 2000 or 2001. I can't remember if Nissan skiped a year or not. And alot of people call them 2000 and others call them 2001. Or are they already out with the 2001. Sorry for such a dumb question, its just been nagging at me.

B15 is the actual body style isn't it correct me if i'm wrong ,,,,just like will the 2002 be a B16?????

B15 refers to the body chasis used for the 2000-2001 models. I think 96-99 used the B14 body etc... The only difference I know between the 2000 and 2001 models is they added a power trunk release feature. And I think they are sticking with the B15 for the 2002 sentras.

·I think he might have been referring to the internal trunk release. The 2001's are also made of a different material. M.Y. 2000's were made from "durasteel" where as 2001's are made from a two step galvanized steel. The only other changes that I am aware of were some EPA emmissions reclassifications. Well, that and better sunvisors.

If I remember right, in the U.S. we got the 2000, as that is what I own, but in Canada they started out with the 2001.
I think that the car was originally released back in March of last year as the 2000 model year, with the 2001 model year coming out last September.

The B15's are BOTH 2000 and 2001. I'm not sure how that wasn't clear in all the responding posts. The 2001 has been out since last september i think just like ProjektA8 said.

I think this is because of government regulations in which a car assembled at certain dates cannot be called a specific model year. This happens to the Sentra because it is very late for it to be a 2000 model but sort of too early to be called a 2001 so there are different rules in the US and Canada making Nissan to necessitate the difference in calling the brand new Sentra 2000 or 2001 models. My 2001 Sentra (Canadian) does not have a safety trunk release.

Somewhere I saw that they said 2001 has "tinted" windows. BUT I really couldn't tell while I was at local dealership waiting for something.

I purchased my SE last April (2000) and it is a 2000 model year auto. They were a midyear intro. I'm bummin' today though-I took off the antenna yesterday for the carwsh and scratched the fender because the pliers I picked was too damn long. Ouch! Anyway, they DID make a 2000 model, but apparently not for an entire year.

Like I said, because of the late introduction of the Sentra, the 2000 model year was short lived. In fact because of production timing, Canadians only got 2001 models.
As for tinted windows, our Sentras come with what are referred to as blue-green tint. If you open your door, and wind down the window half way, you can see the window has a blue-green tint to it. Of course, this is different than darkened tinited windows.
