Now that I've grabbed your attention...

Has anyone ever tried to do an AWD set-up using an X-Trail.

I think this generation (matching years as the B15) was only available in Canada. Whats more is that the 2006 (built in 05) model year may be the only one with AWD.

Same platform and engine as the B15 Sentra too (according to Wiki).

The X-Trail was available with a 6-speed tranny but I can't figure out if it is the same as the one in our cars. Also, not sure if the X-Trail AWD had anything other than an auto.

But yeah, has anyone ever attempted this? Is it even possible within reason?

This exact idea was pondered a few years back by people that could actually make it happen like Travis who pioneered the VQ swap. But as far as I know nothing came of it past the idea phase. Although I didn't keep up with the topic so I could be wrong.

but, for a smaller build, or less powerful, there is some rare info about using the gti-r parts to make the b15 awd as well. so the idea isnt far fetched, just its not cheap to do all the necessary work, nevermind r&d the entire project.
