Altimas.net is the Nissan equivalent of ClubSi. To them, the Altima is the 4-door encarnation of the Civic Si. Nothing is faster, nothing is better. They are truly rulers of the world in their outdated soccer mom sedans. haha.

Maybe they'll have something to talk about once the new Altima is released.

I dunno. I personally like both cars. Then again, I like a LOT of different cars. I'm not "modelist" or "brandist"...

As far as the Altimas or SR20s being the fastest sh*t on the planet, that's total BS. Seems to me that they're always compared because whether we like it or not, you get NEARLY the same performance from two different platforms. On one hand, you have the torquey, higher HP motor paired off with a heavier body. On the other hand, you have a lighter car with a more tunable engine, but slightly less HP and even less torque. The bottom line is that on the average, they aren't THAT far off in numbers. I dunno we could go on and on about this forever.

Why is this point even argued? Like it was said earlier. We're all Nissans in a Honda world. We should stick together. Oh yah... once the new Altima comes out, THEN their smack-talking will be justified for sure.

Here's my view on the Altima. It is a very nice car but too bad it came with a truck engine. That motor can't rev like our little motors can and when it does it isn't half as smooth as the SR20. It has decent low end grunt but that is about it. As far as which is faster, my brother has a 2001 auto GXE and he drove my SE and said mine felt a lot more willing to drive fast. I still love the Altima and I wouldn't mind owning one, but I wouldn't claim I had a sportier motor than the SE. And if those guys think having 5 more horsepower and a dozen ft/lbs of torque can make up for the weight difference between our cars, that is there problem. The SR20 is also a lot more tuner friendly. If you think our tuner market is small, try finding parts for an Altima. The Aftermarket won't even waste their time.
