Would you pay a fee to use this site and information? We are talking about $15-20 a year and we need at least 200 people to do this to keep her going for 1 year. Now my question is can we get over 200 people?

If not, I have no choice and pull the plug on this bbs software and board...

I would pay.

I doubt you would get many new members to join if they were required to pay to access the site though. The beauty of a forum like this is being able to simply click and read. A payment system would detur far too many new people and the community would never grow.

I say go with a free, or much less expensive system, and encourage people to donate whenever possible.

im gonna have to agree with matt, charging a fee is not the anwser. Get rid of the pics, useless forums, and all the other doo-hickies that take up bandwidth first. And make it an all B15 bb!! Then if it absolutely came down to it id prolly pay.

Like someone mentioned elsewhere, offer percs to those who do pay the subscription fee. Only allow subscribers to use images and smilies in the posts. I really love how this UBB board looks and operates. I would hate to see something boring replace it. I also vote for this being a B15 only site. That is the name of the site. There are several other sentra sites the others can go to. I hate to exclude anyone though. Put me down for a subscription!

We gotta get the B10-B14ers involved in this too! I mean if we really wanted to keep this free, couldn't we just cut their half of the bandwith? EVERYONE is using this site, so everyone needs to help.

I'm in, but you gotta remember how much of the 999 and growing members actually own a b15 vs. owning a b14 and under, and to keep it separate from an owner of a b14 and under would actually hurt your chances of getting the money you need to keep it running. if that makes any sense or am i just confusing myself. But wait...if you make it a b15 only BB where would the b14's and under go, i like to browse around, read and reply to their posts also. I say we work on this situation together, don't break-up a happy home.
