I am one of the few who got the ABS/side-air package. I have a few questions for those of you who also have ABS.

1. How long does your ABS light stay on when you first turn your key to the on position? Mine only stays on for it seems like a millisecond.

2. My car seems to do 2 things every time I start it. The brakes do a little clunk and my dash makes a sound like the blinkers just clicked once. I assume these are both ABS checks. Do your cars behave the same way?

I don't think I have ABS, but my car when I cranck it up does make the blinker sound, sometimes at night the blinker sound stays on indefinately, even when I turn the car off, but as soon as I hit the brights it goes away, let go of the brights and it comes back, since I reset the ECU I have not heard the sound yet. but I do still get the starting crank single blink sound, my Airbag light stays on for like 10 seconds

I have the same thing happening to my car from day one. When I first move the car after the initial start up I hear a Clunk sound from the front left wheel. If I don't turn the car off but have it stopped I don't hear that sound when I start moving again. It only happens after I have turned the car off and start it back up again. I read in the owners manual that you will hear a clunk sound after starting the car and that it is the ABS self testing. I am going to have the dealership check it out at first oil change though just to be safe. Can't say that I've run into the sound coming from the dash though. My ABS light doesn't stay on that long either. :)

the clunk you hear is normal. it is the abs self check and start up. you'll notice a clunk as you start to roll forward or back up, this is the abs activating (turn on). it doesn't become active until you are going 5 mph or so.

the self check light should be on for a second or two when you first start the car. Most ABS systems function this way... well in Nissans any way. My Dads 95 max and My moms 94 quest all do the sam thing.

It's quite normal. Mine stays on for a milisecond also. I also hear the clunk sound....I thought it was a auto doorlock like those on Focus' at first.
Well, ABS saved my life a month ago, so it IS working.

Oh yes. Nothing beats slamming the brake pedal through the floorboard and still being able to steer.
