...and guess which irresponsible, careless and moronic klutz was responsible? ME!!! My '01 SE was parked next to my '95 200SX in my rather narrow two-car garage, and I was attempting to extract a rather large box from the front passenger seat of the latter, when I teetered backwards and bumped the door of the 200SX against the driver's door of the SE. Now there's a one inch tall vertical impression on the side of the SE.

Goddamn! Goddamn! Goddamn!!! The irony of the situation is that my 200SX is approaching six years old and doesn't have a single ding on it. Now my SE, which is in winter storage and has just 219 miles on it, has a noticable ding on its flank.

Goddamn!!!!

Sorry for ranting... I just feel so bloody angry at myself. Excuse me while I go look for a tall building to jump off of...

Damn dude, that sucks! i know how you feel, i barely had 500 miles on the puppy when i was moving out some gear, there is an inch gash on the front dash, right above the glove compartment. damn that stuff is really sensitive, it wont go away and i can't seem to buff it out... oh well, at least it's not outside on the paint job or anything..... oh wait, that didn't make you feel any better.....

Bummer man... I have a two inch scratch on my rear quarter.

Look at it this way... You can't see it while you're in the car! ;)

That really bites, man. Don't feel too bad, though. At least your car doesn't have as many scratches and dings as mine...

i remember my first ding...pissed me off. i used to work at a drug store and i found it after i got off work one day. now i got 2. as for scratches...too many to count. my front bumper is blotched with dabs of touch-up paint that doesn't look too good, but better than a black chip.

Thanks for the sentiments, guys--I really appreciate them. I'm still bloody pissed at myself, though, because this was a completely preventable incident, and I have absolutely no one else to blame except my own careless, stupid self.

Looks like I might be paying a visit to one of those paintless dent repair shops I've heard about, when the SE comes out of storage next month. Anyone have any experiences with those?

As a matter of fact I have on three different occasions. As far as the damage to your car is concerned, if it is nothing but a crese, they should be able to massage it out so it is virtually invisible. They will drill a hole in the bottom of your door and massage the dent out with the necessary wand, and then cap the hole. Two of the three times I used the service,it worked out very well. Should cost you around 80.00 to 120.00. Good luck!Adios Amigos.
