The B15 Sentra came with the 1.8L DOHC engine that we all know and - Ahem! - love, bad head gaskets and all. The B16 that was sold between 2007 and 2012 had a larger 2.0L engine, which seems to have a good reputation.
Now the B17 Sentra has entered the fray and once again has a 1.8L engine under its sleek hood. Is this the same basic engine as our B15 cars have, or is it a totally new design? I wonder why Nissan dropped the engine size back a bit for the new car, but my gut tells me it was for fuel mileage. The Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla both use 1.8L engines, and I am pretty sure that the new Civic does as well.
Anyone know about this?
P.S. As for the CVT, I am just not sold on them. I'd probably still rather have a six-speed, but you can only get one in the 'base' model of the Sentra. Argh!
