My dad traded in his 2000 impala in 05 and bought a new one off the lot 7 or 8 miles on it He just hit 197k miles today with the original engine and transmission
The only issue from the start was the seatbelt in the back seat (right side) the thing locks up randomly we complained about a few times in the warranty period. dealer says nothing is wrong with it etc...
we called another place and they said it's defected. How can we force them to fix this on their own dime. Since technically it should have been coved by the manufacture warranty .

I was going to buy a used sentra 2004 to 06 model but most of the private sellers are shady. one person wanted 4500 for a 04 that had a **** load of issues air bag issue and driver seatbelt issue. suspected it was in a accident.another one was a 02 with 350k miles Had issue with the 2th engine did not sound right to me and the check engine light was on. probably need to be replaced by another one

I ended up getting a 03 impala I like the extra room in it.
and it gets the same mileage as the sentra but with way more power since it has a 3.8l .

you need to review your state's lemon laws. if you went back more than 3 times, and have receipts for proof of time and problem, for the defective seatbelt. just go back to the dealership with your 3+ receipts and re-explain your problem. since your dad bought the car 'new', it should be under warranty. the only way to force them to fix it, is to get your own attorney, after youve reviewed your states lemon laws and have your 3+ receipts for the same problem. otherwise, you can contact chevrolet corporate and file a complaint with chevrolet. i would call corporate if you already have the 3+ receipts, they shouldnt fiddle you around with defective safety equipment.
