Hello all-

I have searched and have an idea of that the issue is- have a 2002 Sentra with 117k on it. No rust, everything works great.

A/c- blows hot

Trouble shooting- FIRST ODD ISSUE- blower only works on HIGH. Makes me thing switch could be bad?

AC light comes on on the console-AC compressor does NOT engage. Also, the AC fan does NOT turn on. Makes me think switch? Low side has plenty of pressure (too much actually, 80 psi!). Previous owner said the AC did work intermittently, but I have now seen it work yet.

I have not jumped the compressor to test it yet-anyone confirm what wire to send 12v too?

Anything else to check?

I saw this thread

http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=115092

And that may be an option- but the fans never kick on, and the compressor never kicks on-so I am leaning against that. any other suggestions or trouble shooting options would be appreciated. :)

you need to change your blower motor resistor for you fan to work on every speed setting. its on the back of the dash near the passengers left foot.

the ac you should really hook it up to a machine, make sure you have no leaks, and put the proper amount of fluid and pressure into the system. you should only be at like 27-30psi on the low side. follow the troubleshoot in the fsm, its around here somewhere for free download. any of the pressure sensors could be preventing the compressor or fans from turning on, so at 80psi on the low side, your fans and compressor should not turn on. hopefully you released some of that pressure, or seek someone with an ac machine.

Update-tried what everyone said and not the car does not even start!!!!!

j.k. Started to car to troubleshoot-and the AC WORKS?! Checked the [email protected] on the low side. Put a Can in it-now at 35 and the Air is ICE cold. Good for far for 2 days of DDing. For now, I call it fixed! If there are deals like this on C-list all the time, I can see how people can troll for cars all day, flip them , and make a living! Crazy!

Oh and found out its originally a VA car-has only seen one Cleveland Winter. Explains the lack of Rust…..

35 psi is way too high. during hot or cold days it might not work for you, or might work intermittently. use the fsm for specifications, you should be like 27-30psi max on the low pressure side, NOT 45 PSI IT SAYS ON SOME CANS!!! you could just release some of the pressure, make sure not to get refridgerant on your skin. hopefully youve changed your resistor as well, and yes, no rust is a good thing.

You may be right- as on a quick run to work it seems to not want to work again! Maybe a "service" at a dealer will be the ticket? Evac and refill....

I am looking into the resistor. Easy to get to?

well, if you have a gauge you can do it yourself since you already added a can. what happens is there are pressure sensors that turn on and off the compressor while its monitoring the pressure in the ac system. use the fsm for your year model, different years have different psi, use a flathead or something and take some pressure from the low side, the same port you used to fill. becareful, it comes out fast and sprays everywhere, so use a towel or something and washs your hands good afterwords. no matter the model sentra, i believe theyre all under 33psi, but you have an 02 like me, and i think it was 27psi max, but use the fsm to be sure. if you get it within pressure range and still are having problems, you should seek someone with ac machine in case you have leaks, too much fluid, bad sensor, or something.

im not sure how to answer that. it is very easy to replace, its only 2 bolts and the wiring connector. the problem is you have to be like upside down on the passenger floor to get to it, so its kind of a backbreaking job ;)
